British spirit, Swiss innovation

versatile, innovative and forward-thinking

The Origin

A Maison Born from Independence

Founded in Geneva in 2002 by Peter Speake, a London-trained master watchmaker, and Daniela Marin, the Maison gave birth to a name that would become synonymous with independent and audacious watchmaking: Speake Marin. By combining their surnames, the brand embodies the perfect harmony between British horological audacity and Swiss craftsmanship. Trained at WOSTEP in Switzerland, Peter Speake united precision, technical mastery, and a profound respect for the art of horology. From its earliest days, the Maison challenged conventional watchmaking, creating independent luxury timepieces for collectors seeking originality, exceptional craftsmanship, and understated audacity.

The First Signature

The Foundation Watch set the tone

The very first creation, the Foundation Watch, a hand-crafted tourbillon pocket watch, established the Maison’s defining codes: distinctive hands, a hand-tool motif in the tourbillon cage, and meticulous finishing, principles that continue to resonate in Speake Marin’s limited-edition watches.

The Renaissance

In 2012, Christelle Rosnoblet opened a new chapter for the Maison

Her vision was not to redefine Speake Marin, but to deepen it, reinforcing its independence, refining its structure, and anchoring its future in Swiss technical mastery. Drawn into the world of haute horlogerie by her fascination with exceptional timepieces, Christelle embraced the Maison’s spirit, ensuring that Speake Marin continued to honour Peter Speake’s English heritage, bold design ethos, and independent vision. Her strategic investment in Le Cercle des Horlogers, the Maison’s Neuchâtel-based manufacture of in-house movements, brought Swiss technical mastery to the forefront, allowing each timepiece to blend tradition, innovation, and contemporary elegance.

Under Christelle’s leadership, every watch reflects a dialogue between heritage and modernity. The Piccadilly case, with its slender circular profile and robust lugs, and its small-seconds display between one and two o’clock, remains an enduring symbol of the Maison’s identity. In 2021, The City case, inspired by London’s financial district, illustrates the Maison’s philosophy of calculated boldness, a square and round shape, merging contemporary aesthetics with traditional Swiss watchmaking.

The manufacture

Le Cercle des Horlogers, mastery in motion

At the heart of Speake Marin’s success lies Le Cercle des Horlogers, where master artisans conceive, develop, and assemble each timepiece with meticulous care. Since 2014, Christelle Rosnoblet’s unwavering commitment has ensured full creative and technical control over the Maison’s in-house calibres, now numbering twelve, culminating in the ultra-thin SMA07 automatic skeleton calibre. A true feat of unmatched finesse in independent watchmaking, this calibre powers the Ripples Skeleton, a mechanical masterpiece that seamlessly unites technical ingenuity with exceptional aesthetic refinement.

Independent by nature

British sophistication + Swiss precision

Every watch is a testament to the Maison’s ethos: time is not merely measured but crafted, revered, and celebrated. Each creation tells a story of artisanal mastery, proprietary calibres, and independent luxury. Produced exclusively in limited editions, Speake Marin timepieces embody enduring value, subtle audacity, and timeless elegance. Two decades of independent watchmaking have forged a legacy defined by creativity, precision, and respect for the gesture horloger. From the first tourbillon to the latest Ripples Skeleton, Speake Marin continues to honour the British roots while evolving under Christelle Rosnoblet’s vision producing watches that are instantly recognisable for their elegance, technical brilliance, and daring spirit.
